Vibe coding a quick fix for a surprising knowledge gap

By Kristofer Palmvik ·

This week we discovered a surprising gap in the Swedish school system. And fixed it with AI.

We were sitting around the table, talking and discussing random things, together with three kids aged 10 to 16.

Suddenly it became obvious. None of them have any concept of Swedish demonyms at all.

Like what do you call people from Skåne?
“Skånelänning?”

What about from Öland?
“Öbo?”

And from Bohuslän?
“Bohusing?”

Their guesses went all over the place, creative but far from correct.

AI to the rescue.

I asked it to create a list of Swedish landskap and the most common names for their inhabitants.

Then to create an interactive quiz to be played together on a shared device. The players take turns to guess and judge if the guess is correct enough.

In a few minutes the prompt delivered exactly what we needed.

Good enough for now, safe enough to try together under supervision.

We had a lot of fun, and learnt quite a lot too!

I would dread being forever responsible for a solution like this. It’s probably not something I would or could continue to build on.

But it was a perfect quick and dirty way to address a specific problem. Sometimes getting there in 10 minutes is exactly what you need.
