Let the interview process be similar to how you work for real

Letting candidates work together with their future team during the job interview can really show how great the company is!

The interview process was one of the big reasons I decided to join Hemnet a long time ago. It even included pairing with awesome potential colleagues to solve real problems.

Together with Teddy and Patrik I got to work on some of the challenges they currently faced with the product. Things they would have to find a solution for, whether or not I was there interviewing.

📝 We discussed and came up with a plan together.

🏗️ We worked through it and discussed the result together.

🚀 And we didn’t just play around – our result was live in production before I left the interview.

After the interview I just knew I had to accept an offer to work with such skilled and helpful colleagues!

If you spend all days writing fizzbuzz implementations on a whiteboard, then please do that during the interview.

If you rather work together as a team, discussing problems and building solutions together, that is probably what you should show potential employees.

Why are not more companies making the interview process as close to the actual work as possible?
